In addition to writing, Sara’s worked as an actor. Born in Oakland, California, raised by New England, she honed her studies of theatre and English literature working primarily in and around New York City.
A graduate of The National Theatre Institute and Connecticut College, Sara’s acted with Soho Rep, The Players Club, The Drama Dept., Ensemble Studio Theatre, The Dorset Theatre Festival, The Williamstown Theatre Festival and many other playhouses. As an improvisor, she studied and performed at the original UCB and People’s Improv Theatres. She’s recorded with Scholastic, Hachette, MacMillian Audio, Recorded Books, Audible and more, and is a volunteer literacy mentor.
Appearing on MTV, Nickelodeon, HBO, Comedy Central, and NBC, and in award-winning films at the Cannes and Tribeca film festivals, Sara received a Best Actress award from The Downbeach Film Festival, and worked formative jobs and internships with Clinica Estetico, New Line Cinema, and Late Night with Conan O’Brien.
Favoring clear communication and the genuine human, she follows words and worlds supported by constructive action, intelligence, kindness and equality. What rings truest about the human condition - its fallacies and triumphs, its adherence to joy against seemingly unbeatable odds - finds home in her dialogue, poetry, performance, and fiction.
She speaks conversational Spanish, swims like a champ, studies the philosophies and discoveries of Buddha, Jesus, her mama and mother nature, what’s funny, and scientific genius. She’s a graduate of Manhattan’s Sonic Yoga teacher training program, drives stick, and fits in your pocket.
