In addition to writing, Sara has worked as an actor. She received classical training at The National Theatre Institute and holds degrees in English Literature and Theatre from Connecticut College. Born in California and raised by New England, she then spent long years in New York City honing her craft. Favoring clear communication and the genuine human, she follows words supported by constructive action, so that what rings truest about the human condition finds home in her dialogue, poetry, performance, and fiction.

Acting with Soho Rep, The Players Club, The Drama Dept., Ensemble Studio Theatre, The Dorset Theatre Festival, The Williamstown Theatre Festival and many other playhouses, Sara’s also an improvisor, having studied and performed at the original UCB and People’s Improv Theatres. As a voice artist and audio book narrator, she’s recorded with Scholastic, Hachette, MacMillian Audio, Recorded Books, Audible, and more. She’s a national ALA nominee, Audiofile Magazine EarPhones Award recipient, and volunteer literacy mentor.

Appearing on MTV, Nickelodeon, HBO, Comedy Central, and NBC, and in award-winning films at the Cannes and Tribeca film festivals, Sara received a Best Actress award from The Downbeach Film Festival, and worked formative jobs and internships with Clinica Estetico, New Line Cinema, and Late Night with Conan O’Brien. She speaks conversational Spanish, swims like a champ, studies Buddhism, drives stick, and fits in your pocket.
